Gunnedah residents can expect sweaty weather conditions with a high of 42 degrees and winds of up to 27 kilometres per hour.
As summer rolls around more severe fire danger ratings can be expected, Tamworth Rural Fire Service Superintendent Allyn Purkiss said.
"It's certainly nowhere near as bad as last year at this time where we had been fighting fires continually since August and our drought conditions were extreme," he said.
"It was off the charts for us, it was just really, really dry.
"We're expecting it to be hot come Tuesday but backing off then for the rest of the week."
