The library is a place where there's always something going on. It's not just a place to borrow and return books, but it's a place where you can do some research, work on your projects, and meet like-minded people.

On Wednesday morning the family history group meets at the library, so if you would like to investigate your family tree or learn a bit about Gunnedah, but aren't sure where to start, come along at 10.30 and get help and encouragement from the group, who will start you on the right track.
There's no need to book, just come on in.

Also on Wednesdays, the library does a house bound book bag delivery run - we deliver books to people who are unable to come to the library. If you know of an elderly person who would love to read or listen to talking books, but can't come to the library, join them up to the House-Bound service. You just need to let us know how many books the person would like to have delivered, and what type they would like to read or listen to, and that's it. We select the material and deliver it to the home once a fortnight. Even better, the service is free.
For youngsters aged from eight to twelve years old, the library presents Junior Brain Games as an after-school activity each Wednesday afternoon at 3.30pm. There's storytelling, and fun activities such as spot the different, mazes, find the objects, colouring in, and sometimes some handicrafts.
There's a limit of ten for this program, so please ring 6740 2190 to secure a place for your child. This program is also free.
Crafty people might like to come along to the library between 9.30am and 12.30pm each Saturday morning - that's the time for Knit and Natter, Colour and Chatter. Bring your knitting or crochet, or you can do some colouring-in, do a jigsaw or play any of the games the library provides. And, of course, have a chat with the others there.
No bookings are required - just turn up and stay for as long as you wish and enjoy yourself.
See you soon at the library!
