The year 2020 will be remembered for many things including it being the year we all holidayed at home - literally in our own homes.

The global pandemic that has disrupted so many of our travel plans will continue to cause havoc with overseas travel well into 2021.

While overseas travel remains something to monitor, in Australia we have started to see the relaxing of border restrictions and the chance of an interstate holiday. And what better time than now to take in the wonder and grandeur of our own country.

With this in mind Travelrite International, along with The Senior newspaper invite you to join them on an outback Australian odyssey.

The tour runs from August 14 to 30, 2021 and will start in Longreach taking in Winton, Mt Isa, Birdsville, Innamincka, Tibooburra, Broken Hill, Port Augusta, Marree, Coober Pedy and Alice Springs.

The first two days are in Longreach where you will visit the Qantas Founders Museum. Enjoy a guided visit of the Boeing 707, Boeing 747, Super Constellation and DC-3 in the museum's new Airpark Enclosure.

In the afternoon visit the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame which tells the story of rural areas across 40,000 years.

In Winton on day three see the fossilised footprints from a dinosaur stampede 95 million years ago.

Before heading to Mt Isa, visit the Waltzing Matilda Centre, in honor of the famous poem, written by Banjo Paterson in the Winton area in 1895.

Drop in at Walkabout Creek Hotel from the movie Crocodile Dundee before travelling through the beautiful ochre-red Selwyn Ranges.

Day five is spent travelling 685km south to Birdsville.

In Innamincka next, see explorer Burke's grave and the stunning Cullyamurra Waterhole.

On the way to Tibooburra view the spot where the borders of NSW, Queensland and South Australia meet and the famous Dingo Fence.

Broken Hill is next on the itinerary. On arrival a sightseeing tour reveals just how fascinating this outback mining town is.

After two days in Broken Hill the party heads to Port Augusta where you will enjoy an orientation trek of the city, including the Wadlata Outback Centre.

Famous for it's opal mines, Coober Pedy will not disappoint as the group takes in the Old Timers Mine, it's museum, machinery demonstration and opal showroom.

From Coober Pedy Alice Springs is reached via the Stuart Highway.

The tour of Alice Springs takes in sites of historical significance such as Anzac Hill and the Old Telegraph Station Reserve. Also on the itinerary is the West MacDonnell National Park and Simpsons Gap.

The next day the trip winds up and everyone is transferred to Alice Springs Airport for flights home.

Also included in the package is over $500 per person value in sightseeing tours, entrances, transfers, and gratuities.
