Oxley police had been searching for Gerard Johnston, after he failed to return home to Carroll from work on October 5.
The 43-year-old was reported missing to police by concerned family members.
It sparked a police search as well as a public appeal for information after he was last seen leaving the Carroll area in a blue Ford Falcon.
Police had been told he was headed for Tamworth at the time.

On Monday morning, a spokesperson for Oxley police confirmed the 43-year-old had been located safe and well and there was no cause for alarm.
Police have thanked the public for their assistance.
