THE SWEETEST shop in town is about to open its doors to customers craving classic candy.
The Lollie Hut is set to open for business in Tamworth at the weekend, and the store is chockas with tasty treats from all over the world.
Co-owner Brett Hutchins said the specialty lolly shop will be the only one of its kind in the area, serving up sweets, milkshakes and even bulk orders.
"It's a traditional lolly shop; we have all the old-fashioned stuff," he said.
"We've got rock candy, the bon bons are a massive seller, and these giant lollipops, you can't get them anywhere else, and they're Australian made."
Mr Hutchins and his wife Michelle have struggled to get some supplies in due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but there are still plenty of options for locals with a sweet tooth.
The couple used to own a lolly shop on Brisbane Street about six years ago, and said they'd been fielding calls "left, right and centre" asking them to open a new one in town.
"It puts a smile on your face every day in the lolly shop and you meet so many different people," Mr Hutchins said.
The store will be open from Wednesdays to Sundays, 9am-5pm.
