Stepping down as mayor and from the council at this month's meeting, Cr Hope said the council would not be making a submission to the electoral commission any time soon.

"To be honest, as a council, we are not too concerned with which electorate we fall into," Cr Hope said.
"We haven't lodged a submission because we figure we've had two members of parliament representing us and that's working alright at the moment.
"I'm not sure if the new mayor will perhaps want to make a submission after this month's meeting, but I would say it's unlikely to happen before then."
The Liverpool Plains local government area is currently split between two electorates with Werris Creek and Currabubula falling under Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson's area, and the remainder of the shire in Micheal Johnsen's Upper Hunter seat.
"Personally, I believe one shire should fall under one electorate," Cr Hope said.
"Being split between two electorates can mean you lose some of shire's connectivity as a result.
"However, I must say we have done quite well out of the current arrangement and I'm certainly not complaining."
Cr Hope's comments come after Tamworth councillor Mark Rodda made a submission to the commission to redraw the electoral boundaries.
Under Cr Rodda's submission, Gunnedah would join the Barwon electorate, while Walcha would leave the Tamworth electorate for the Northern Tablelands and the entire Liverpool Plains shire would fall into the Tamworth boundary.
"I know Mark has spoken about this issue and I know other stakeholders such as the local Nationals branch have made submissions as well," Cr Hope said.
"However, it's not something I've given a lot of thought to but if I had to pick which electorate the shire would fall into, I would probably say Tamworth."
