Councillor Ken Cudmore will raise a motion at Wednesday's August council meeting, which will call on the council to change its stance on the pipeline's current route.
The council papers call for the council to "support the rerouting of the gas pipeline onto stock routes or public land reserves where possible".

As well as for the council to "write a letter to the proponent and the state government stating our adopted position and to continue to facilitate discussions to reroute the pipeline".
Cr Cudmore's push is the latest motion put forward to the council after Cr Virginia Black raised a similar motion at last month's meeting.
The motion was defeated at the July meeting, however Cr Cudmore's motion comes after a recent meeting, which attracted more than 60 landholders who voiced their objections to the project.
Many of the landholders expressed concerns about a lack of consultation between the company and impacted landholders.
However, Hunter Gas, the company behind the proposed pipeline has since refuted those claims.
The project was initially approved in 2008 and Hunter Gas, the company putting forward the project, successfully applied for an extension of time on the project last year.
Wednesday's meeting begins at 2.30pm and will be live streamed on Youtube.
