Held at the Gunnedah Bicentennial Creative Arts Gallery, the event will run from 10am on Saturday, August 22.
Hayley and Patricia, who are the artists behind The Space Between exhibition opening at the gallery on Friday, base their work on ideas and philosophies from Asia.
Patricia will host an in-depth talk about different Asian brushwork techniques and their history based on her recent study of significant contemporary Asian art in Singapore, China and Japan.
Hayley Ward will demonstrate the captivating Japanese practice of Boro and the concept of Wabi-Sabi. Wabi-Sabi relates to a particular Japanese aesthetic and celebrates the earthy, imperfect and variegated.

Boro are well-used Japanese textiles that have been mended or patched together using sashiko (little stabs) stitching. Hayley uses found objects and encaustic wax paint, which are relatively uncommon mediums.
Gunnedah Shire Council cultural precinct team leader Lauren Mackley said the event offered a unique opportunity.
"This is a great to learn about some rather unorthodox arts practices with experienced artists who are more than happy to share their knowledge," Ms Mackley said.
The Space Between will open at 6pm on Friday, August 21. Free tickets can be booked through the 'buy tickets' link at www.thecivic.com.au
Light refreshments will be provided. Gunnedah Shire Council is asking guests to book a free ticket to attend the opening to ensure COVIDSafe protocols.
The exhibition will continue until Friday, September 18 at the gallery.
