A SAWN-off shotgun and replica firearms have been seized after police uncovered a weapons haul hidden in a home near Gunnedah.

The Tactical Operations Unit (TOU) - which is made up of specially-trained Western Region police that deal with firearms matters and high-risk incidents - backed Oxley police and rural crime officers to raid the property at dawn on Maitland Street in Breeza.
The raid unfolded about 6.15am on Wednesday and officers discovered several guns, other weapons and drugs.
Along with the shot gun, police seized 10 gel blasters replica firearms; a flick knife; and a slingshot.

Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy said the search warrant was sparked in response to an ongoing police operation.
"Police moved quickly in response to information we received, and we treat all matters involving firearms as serious and that's why we deployed the resources we have," he said.
"The search warrant was executed by the rural crime prevention team assisted by the Oxley Proactive Crime Team and the TOU.
"As a result, we saw replica firearms, a .22 sawn off shot gun and other weapons and drugs seized."
Police said no charges had been laid but investigations are continuing.
