Transport for NSW said the final works on the approaches would be completed later this month. Motorists may still experience some delays as these works are carried out.
The intersection is a main thoroughfare for trucks turning onto the heavy vehicle route of Bloomfield Street to travel in the direction of Coonabarabran. It was identified in the Oxley Highway corridor strategy as needing an upgrade and the works have been done by Gunnedah Shire Council.
Permanent lighting should be installed by the end of September.
The upgrade started in April 2019 and will pave the way for Gunnedah's second rail overpass, which is under construction.
