Liverpool Plains Shire Council has engaged Hill Lockart to transform the library into a contemporary multi-purpose area with modern facilities and improved activity spaces.
"These works will see the creation of new adult and children's spaces and hard landscaping features, including a pergola and shaded seating area," mayor Andrew Hope said.

The preliminary design plans for the project have been finalised and the council will soon go to tender for delivery of the works.
Stage one of the precinct redevelopment was the upgrade of amenities, which was funded by the Drought Communities Program.
The second stage is the construction of the community space, library activity space and wet area space (formerly the green room) and is funded by the under the State Government's State Libraries grant program.
The third stage is the construction of the adult's and children's library space to be funded by the Stronger Country Communities Fund; and the fourth stage is the construction of a pergola, seating and shade area.
"Council is strongly committed to maintaining our library services and, once completed, the Quirindi library precinct will help stimulate learning, creative thinking and community interaction at a fantastic, modern environment in our town centre," Cr Hope said.
