Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said the massive injection of funding came from the Stronger Country Communities Fund, and he was proud to be able to provide this important support.
"This grant is fantastic news for one of the major sporting venues in Gunnedah," he said.
"The easing of COVID-19 restrictions has enabled the committee to kick-off the competition, which is fantastic news.
"Last year soccer in Gunnedah had about 500 junior and senior registrations, making it one of the largest sporting clubs in the town."
Anderson said the clubhouse was dated and no longer suitable for the size of the club.
It does not have a visiting-team change room or facilities for female club members or referees.
The upgrade will feature an accessible car park, an entry ramp, two changing rooms with a toilet and shower, a changing area for female players, a changing area and shower for match officials, storage space and a general-purpose function room.
Anderson said: "I want to congratulate the committee of the club and its secretary Helen Cygan for the work they have put into this successful submission."
Cygan said the funding announcement was "absolutely fantastic news". The move would "give the sport a really big boost", she said.
