Gunnedah shire mayor Jamie Chaffey will remain at the helm of Namoi Unlimited for another two years after being re-elected.
Cr Chaffey will be supported by Tamworth Regional Council mayor, Col Murray, who returned as deputy chairperson.
"It is an honour to be re-appointed," Cr Chaffey said.
"Namoi Unlimited is a unique collaboration within local government; it enables like-minded and complementary local governments to work together on what we believe are the priorities of the region.
"Namoi Unlimited was formed under the Local Government Act in 2018, however, the relationships between our five local government areas have been built over decades. Namoi Unlimited is united, we are committed to working together on priorities to grow our communities."
The join organisation's three strategic regional priorities determine actions around water, roads and transport infrastructure, and skills.
"Namoi Unlimited, I think, is really driving the conversations about how councils can work together," Cr Murray said.
"Our industry needs the ability to come together to drive growth and access to the region."
Member councils are Walcha Council, Tamworth Regional Council, Liverpool Plains Shire Council, Gunnedah Shire Council and Gwydir Shire Council.
Joint Organisations of Councils are an initiative of the NSW government.
