During the break, members took delivery of the Namoi Valley Independent newspaper files, photo proof sheets and negatives, donated by the owners Australian Country Media (ACM).
The society is grateful for the chance to preserve the historical newspaper records and photo files on behalf of ACM and the community.
With the Vietnam War veteran memorials painted on the exterior of the water tower drawing visitors from all over Australia, the society has plans for a third mural on the eastern side when funding becomes available.
The society is always on the lookout for new members to volunteer their time at the museum. Anyone interested is asked to contact president Bob Leister on 0427 422 118 or secretary Marie Hobson on 0427 425 453.
