On Monday, Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson announced just over $34,000 for a new storm water drainage system.
The funding is part of the NSW government's COVID-19 stimulus package and is the second round of funding announced for the showground this month. More than $94,000 in funding was allocated to upgrade the main grandstand, kitchen and Griffiths Hall, and demolish the stables.

"Our showgrounds play an important role at the heart of our communities so I welcome this further investment into an important community asset," Mr Anderson said.
"This investment will provide a boost for our local showgrounds like Gunnedah and the communities they serve by supporting tradies and suppliers with work and strengthening showground infrastructure for the future."
Gunnedah Show Society president, Rob Witts said the upgrades would help to provide "a really top-class facility for the town and the region".
"As COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease we are now looking forward to running events on the showgrounds and we've scheduled our big annual show jumping event for the first weekend of September," he said.
