Gunnedah Fire and Rescue raced to the scene on Monday morning and found the vehicle engulfed.

As the crew pulled up, a tyre exploded off a rim, throwing the tyre into the air at high speed.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze but the truck was completely destroyed.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and the truck didn't have a licence plate on it.
