POLICE will allege a man had almost 200 ecstasy pills and a stash of cannabis when they stopped his car between Gunnedah and Tamworth on Tuesday night.

Oxley police intercepted the red Holden Commodore on the Oxley Highway at Bective about 5.25pm, and pulled the car over for a random breath test.
The driver passed the test but after speaking to him, and carrying out further police checks, they decided to search the car.
Inside, they uncovered what they allege was almost 200 MDMA pills and 1.5kg of cannabis.

The 31-year-old man was arrested and taken to Tamworth police station for questioning.
He was charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited drug and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.
The 31-year-old was granted conditional bail and has been ordered to front court in Tamworth in mid-August.
Police said investigations are continuing with the drugs to be forensically analysed.
