Gunnedah Fire and Rescue's Daniel Poss said the cause of the crash was unclear.
"We were initially told the car had flipped onto its roof and caught fire," Mr Poss said.
"Fortunately, when we arrived, the car was the right way up and not on fire.
"However, when we arrived the only person at the scene was the person who reported the incident, not the driver of the car."
A Gunnedah police spokesperson said investigations into the incident were continuing.
"In the end it was a pretty lucky escape and our crews were left to clean up a lot of coolant from the car and things like that," Mr Poss said.
"The car did sustain some significant damage, while also ripping a few of the club's bollards out of the ground."
