Victoria Adams, Leisure and lifestyle coordinator said they were now currently in the process of writing back.

"They were pretty excited when they saw what the students did - they are so funny, the kids really went into a lot of detail," she said.

They are also decorating the windows looking out to the road, with an Easter theme, to give some spirit of the season to passers-by.

Wendy Rheinberg, St Joseph's Primary School teacher, said the kids had just as much fun making the cards - complete with Easter eggs - as the residents did receiving them.

"Some sent them to people they remembered meeting last year, it was really lovely to see," she said.

With herself and her Kindy kids disappointed they couldn't meet up in person, this was a way to keep them in touch and maintain their budding friendships.

The residents have also received much-loved cards from East Side Day Care and Blackville Public School too.

They both thanked the Quirindi CWA's Colleen Wills for facilitating the card-swap.

"We've been able to organise school children to keep in contact with Eloura," Ms Wills explained.

"The kids made lovely cards, and we take them from the schools to the nursing home when we can - it's important to keep that communication open."
