Apart from a few cows and yearling steers there were very few well finished cattle penned. The usual processors were in attendance, along with good local restocker support. There were no heavy feeders penned, restricting some feeder orders.
That strong restocker demand continued on light weight cattle, particularly steers with those trends firm to dearer. The large range in price in the yearling steers was a result of variations in both breed and quality.
The medium weight yearling feeder steers also sold on a firm to slightly dearer trend. Well finished heavy trade steers sold to cheaper trends. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed sold to a cheaper trend of as much as 18c/kg.
Heavy grown steers sold to a much cheaper trend with quality a factor. The cow market saw cheaper trends of as much as 15c/kg. Restockers were active on some better quality cows.

Tamworth Sheep
There were 1,860 lambs and 2,000 sheep penned. The quality of the lamb offering was fair to extremely good according to a local agent.
Restockers were well catered for with processors also well supplied. The regular processors and local restocker orders were in place.
Demand was weaker across the lamb market with well finished trade and export weight lambs selling to a cheaper trend of $10 to $15/head. With rain about the restocker lambs were cheaper but less affected.
The plain condition lightweight restocker lambs sold from around $100 to $120/head, estimated by agents as being under 12kg dressed.
The heavier restocker lambs up to 18kg dressed sold from $140 to $178/head. Plainer quality lambs to process sold from $97 to $150/head.
The better quality lambs to process sold from $175 to $220/head. Heavy and extra heavy weights estimated by agents to weigh between 27kg and 33kg dressed sold from $250 to $285/head.
Market trends were firm to slightly cheaper through the sheep market with some weight related price change. A feature was a large line of shorn Merino wethers estimated by agents to dress around 24kg.
