The NVI has compiled a list of new changes to services for Gunnedah, Liverpool Plains and Narrabri shire councils, up-to-date at Tuesday, March 31.
All councils have closed their administration buildings, pools, visitor information centres, libraries, skateparks, playgrounds, cinemas, and theatres.

Gunnedah Shire Council
The customer service team remains available for enquiries through phone on 6740 2100, email via council@infogunnedah.com.au or by visiting www.gunnedah.nsw.gov.au
- For payment of accounts, please refer to alternate payment methods on your rates and charges notice or water usage account. Other payments include mailing a cheque, direct debit, or online or telephone payments using BPay or BPoint.
- The council has also moved to freeze interest accrual against rates, fees and charges that are currently outstanding or may become outstanding and will cease the escalation of any accounts to formal debt recovery.
- Planning and rates appointments are being conducted over the phone or through email, please contact the council to arrange this.
- Physical documents can be submitted to the drop box outside of the Elgin Street building.
- Information about the library's eResources can be found via the council website.
Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC)
To meet current requirements the following LPSC services are closed:
- Plains Fitness gym
- Sportsgrounds and showgrounds across the Shire
- Visitor Information Centre
- Scheduled Council events have been cancelled
- Freedom Camping areas and caravan parks
- Quipolly Dam recreation area
Limited Centrelink services will be available by appointment only at Werris Creek Library during the following hours: Tuesday - Thursday: 10am-12 noon and Friday: 10am-11:30am. To make any appointment for Centrelink services please phone 6768 7340.

Narrabri Shire Council
- The Crossing Theatre Café: serving takeaway coffee and meals only.
- The Crossing Theatre Cinemas: CLOSED
- Waste facilities/transfer stations are open and are operating according to usual business hours.
Parks and open spaces are open for the purpose of exercise activities in line with social distancing measures (2 person maximum/family only rule).
Council is committed to ensuring community service provisions are maintained during this time specifically, water, waste, roads and customer service functions.
