The rain fell hard and fast for a number of hours on Wednesday afternoon and many residents had recorded high figures by the morning.
On the Kamilaroi Highway near Curlewis, the causeway was flooded by late afternoon after more than 50mm fell at the small village.
Over at Mullaley, 45mm was recorded by the Bureau of Metereology (BOM), 35mm hit Gunnedah airport, and 30mm came down in Tambar Springs.
Areas of Boggabri also saw plenty of the wet stuff. The BOM recorded 39mm, but other areas only had 16mm.
Werris Creek recorded much less at 18mm, and Narrabri airport measured just 6.6mm.
In Quirindi, there as 21mm of rain, while Tamworth had 43mm, and Nundle had 32mm.
