Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce says it is ready to stand by its members as the parameters continue to change for business in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Once again we find it necessary to come together as a community to manage a crisis not of our own making, which is out of our control and which is likely to have a devastating impact on our economy", chamber president Juliana McArthur said.
"The business community has proven its resilience through a long drought; now we have more uncertainty to overcome but we have a strong community in Gunnedah. We can do this together.
"We urge people to shop local and support our businesses. Order takeaway in home delivery from your café, pub/club and restaurants, which have closed.
"Ask your local retailer about telephone orders and home delivery. Meetings and services can be done electronically. Our businesses can make use of social distancing measures. Our farmers will keep producing food."

Mrs McArthur said the chamber was in daily contact with Gunnedah Shire Council - which has formed a COVID-19 Crisis Subcommittee - and the state government to keep abreast of developments.
