Ms Costello said HealthWISE was dedicated to Closing The Gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous health outcomes, and worked hard to give the Aboriginal community access to a wide variety of services.
"I think it's important to celebrate our wins," she said.
"We help community members access GPs, referral services, dentists and specialists.
"Some find navigating the health system traumatic, particularly if they are facing mental health challenges without family support."
Ms Costello said the health organisation was keen to get feedback from locals on how the service could be improved.
"We want to keep moving forward, and don't want to become complacent," she said.
HealthWISE offers the following services:
- Supporting general practice and practitioners to effectively service communities.
- Providing Allied Health services where there are shortages or gaps.
- Providing mental health services across the region.
- Coordinating specialist services where there are none or there is a specific need.
- Developing and providing Aboriginal Health programs and services.
- Supporting aged care and encouraging healthy aging.
