The Gunnedah Country Music Muster is cancelled for 2020, but is already scheduled for March 23-28, 2021.
Event organiser Rex Baldwin said the decision was made after a "directive from the government" was received.
"It's a bit of a bummer but that's the way the cookie crumbles," Mr Baldwin said.
"You've got to take the good with the bad, unfortunately."

Mr Baldwin said all artists who were set to play this year will be on the line-up for next year.
"We will be back again next year unless we're over in the cemetery somewhere," he said.
"Straight away we'll start organising for 2021."
Tickets for the event are usually purchased at the Gunnedah Showground entry gate, so no refunds need to be given out.
Other Gunnedah events have been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak too, including the Gunnedah Show and Anzac Day celebrations.
