However, the pair's outstanding performances weren't enough to secure a grand final playoff, as both sides went down to the Sydney Scorps.

Despite the loss, Brady's performance was enough to earn him selection in the NSW men's over-40 touch football side.

Meanwhile, playing in his first National Touch League was Mathew Brady, who said his experience was incredible.

"Our men's open side might have only won one of our seven games, but I took a lot out of it," Brady said.

"It was a super tough tournament and there was a lot of really skilful play.

"There was a lot of really tough footy, but it was super enjoyable."

Brady said he was confident he would use the lessons he learned at the tournament in Gunnedah Touch Association's next season.

"I learned so much from the experience," he said.

"You're going up against Australian representatives, so you're taking on some of the best players in the country.

"There's no way you don't learn a lot when you're playing with and against people like that.

"It has really inspired me to keep playing and try to take my touch football as far as it can go."
