POLICE are continuing to interview witnesses in the hunt for a man wanted for questioning after break-ins in Gunnedah, as well as a handbag stealing in Tamworth.

On Tuesday, Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy said investigations were continuing in a bid to try and trace the whereabouts of the man, pictured in CCTV in both towns.
"Investigations are continuing today and investigators are interviewing witnesses, canvassing the neighbours and reviewing CCTV as part of that investigation," he said.
"We are appealing for that person in the images, we believe he knows about our investigation, and we are urging him to come forward and assist police with our inquiries."

Investigations into property crime in the Gunnedah area continue after cash was stolen from six homes.
Between 10.30pm on Sunday and 6am on Monday, police were alerted after the six properties were targeted while residents were asleep inside.
Two houses in Hopedale Avenue and Links Road were hit, along with properties in Stewart Street and Lincoln Street.
During the Links Road incident, police were told a man broke into the house at about 3.20am on Monday.
The resident was woken and disturbed the intruder, who fled on foot.
Crime scenes were combed for clues on Monday as part of the investigation. No charges have been laid.
Police also want to question the man about a stealing of a woman's handbag from a shop in West Tamworth earlier on Sunday.
Detective Darcy said the man was captured on CCTV in the Robert Street Shopping Centre, where the offence occurred at about 12pm.
"We are investigating the theft of a woman's handbag from within a clothing store and we believe several shoppers would have seen the person depicted in the images, who we believe could assist us with our inquiries," he said.
The man is described as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, about 150cm tall with a thin build and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with green and cream camouflage knee-length shorts and a black cap.
