Gunnedah revelled in ideal conditions at the Narrabri carnival - bringing home 25 gold, 27 silver and 14 bronze medals as well as a medal of every colour in the hotly contested relays.

Savannah Lyons and Scout Newbery dominated the 12-years division, often taking the quinella. Savannah powered into first place in six events and was second in the 50m freestyle and 200m individual medley, where her clubmate claimed gold and added four silver and three bronze to her swag.
Jedd Rennick, 13, won four events and placed second in the medley, 200m freestyle and 100m backstroke. Amelia Lush, meanwhile, won the 13-years 50m and 100m freestyle and finished second in the 200m event, with silvers in the 50m and 100m backstroke and bronze in the medley and 50m breaststroke.

Alexis Whitton, 8, continued her good form with two gold and two silver, while older brother Cooper, 10, came third in the 50m backstroke. Felicity Gough and Katie Spinks took first and second place in the 10-and-under 100m breaststroke, respectively, with Felicity also winning the 50m breaststroke. She also came second in fly while Katie came third in the 50m breaststroke.
The 10-years 50m fly and 200m individual medley fell to Danika Jones, who won silver in the 100m fly and bronze in the 50m and 100m freestyle. Tahni Bush also competed in this division, for a win in breaststroke, second place in the medley and third place in the fly, while Zach Akinyemi, 10, won a silver and bronze.
The club's youngest competitor, seven-year-old Josh Spinks, nailed gold in the eight-and-under 50m freestyle and came second in breaststroke and fly, while Sienna Swain won silver in the eight-years 50m breaststroke.
Georgia Lyons won the 10-years 100m backstroke, with little sister Olivia winning the seven-years 25m fly and taking second place in breaststroke. Emerging talent Lachlan Davey, 11, won silver in the 100m butterfly with third place in the 50m fly and freestyle. Baxter Knapman, 9, continues to impress, with a silver in the 200m medley and third place in backstroke, while Luke Osland jagged a bronze in the 11-years 50m backstroke.
Brooke Rennick, 15, came home with bronze medals in the 50m and 100m backstroke. While Charlie Shorter, 8, went close to medals in backstroke and fly.
The relays are always an exciting part of the day with the crowd on its feet to cheer home the winners. Gunnedah's tadpoles claimed first place in the eight-and-under relay, with the 10s and the mixed relay finishing second and the 12-and-under relay finishing in third place.
Coach John Hickey was pleased with the overall results and very impressed with the team spirit.
