Arts Gunnedah successfully applied for $3000 through the state government's Country Arts Support Program administered by Regional Arts NSW.
The local group will use the funds to subsidise six workshops - facilitated by visiting professional artists -over the course of the year, and hire an artist to judge the 50th Annual Arts and Ceramics Exhibition in August. A two-day workshop will be delivered by the chosen artist.

Arts Gunnedah president Shirley Urquhart said the group wasn't able to offer as many workshops in 2019, so the grant came at a good time in the year.
"It really makes things a lot easier because it makes workshops more affordable for people as we're able to subsidise artist fees," she said.
"We don't have any trouble filling classes."
The workshops will cover various mediums including water colours, acrylic, oil painting and pottery.
The first workshop will be held from March 21-22 and focus on water colours. It will be run by Tamworth artist Yvonne Overton who has conducted numerous workshops at Tamworth Regional Gallery, Armidale Art Gallery and Weswal Gallery Tamworth.
Arts Gunnedah will hold its Annual General Meeting on March 4 at 5pm. All executive positions will be vacant at this meeting and all are welcome to attend. Current president and secretary will not be seeking re-election.
The group is also asking for artists to retrieve artworks left behind in the gallery, as they are filling up the storage area.
- Full details of upcoming art workshops will be available on Arts Gunnedah's Facebook page.
