Shaun David Cross is accused of housing a hydroponic cannabis set-up at a Carroll property, between Gunnedah and Tamworth.
Cross appeared in Gunnedah Local Court for a bail hearing where his bid for release was denied by magistrate Peter Thompson.
Mr Thompson ordered the 41-year-old to remain in custody while police prepare a brief of evidence into the charges that stem from a raid earlier this month.

During the appearance, Cross was not required to enter pleas to the four charges of possessing prohibited drugs; supplying less than an indictable quantity of drugs; enhanced indoor cultivation of a prohibited plant and exposing a child; and acquiring a firearm part without authority.
The case will return to the same court in early-March.
The 41-year-old was arrested when police raided a Breeza Street property in Carroll on the morning of February 4.
After executing the search warrant, police said they found the hydroponic set-up inside and seized what they allege is 21 mature cannabis plants, leaf and a firearm component.
A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Gunnedah police station for questioning, and then subsequently charged.
The drugs have been seized for forensic examination and investigations are continuing, Oxley police confirmed.
Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy said the raid came after a tip-off to police.
"This is another example of the community working with police, and shows that information supplied to police will be acted on swiftly and quickly," he said.
"Oxley police have a zero tolerance for drug supply and we will act on information from the public."
Detective Darcy reiterated an appeal for the public to work hand-in-hand with police to stamp out drugs in the Gunnedah area.
"This was a short investigation and was the result of some really good investigative work by Gunnedah and Narrabri detectives," he said.
"We would appeal for anyone across the Oxley Police District to come forward if they have information on drugs and drug supply. That information will be treated confidentially, and we will investigate."
