On Sunday, Gwydir and Moree had been scheduled to host Gunnedah and Tamworth, respectively, in the semi-finals.
Gunnedah captain Blake Small found out on Sunday morning that the match had been cancelled despite undefeated Gwydir playing on a synthetic wicket.

Small - who led Gunnedah to Connolly Cup glory in 2017-18 and was desperate for the side to capture the title again - was left "very disappointed" after the semi-final was cancelled.
"The weather's the weather," he said. "It's good to see a bit of rain comin' around.
"But it's very disappointing to us and the boys [not to play Gwydir]. But I guess we'll have to bounce back next year."
Small said Gunnedah had a "great year".
But the side, he said, was cruelled by their only loss of the tournament - when Moree beat them by two wickets in an opening round clash in Gunnedah in October.
"To be honest, we probably should have beaten Moree when we played them," he said.
"Things just didn't go our way that day.
"It pretty much all came down to that game, really. If we had won that, we'd be the side going through [to the final]."
Small singled out as a positive Gunnedah's final-round away defeat of Narrabri, which secured his side the semi-final showdown against Gwydir.
"They were on top of the table," he said.
"To take them down, even to get a chance in the semi-finals, was a really good step."
Gunneah have benefitted from keeping the nucleus of their side intact the past couple of seasons.
Small said "it was hard to say" if that would be the case next season.
"It really depends if a couple of the First XI players who didn't play this year ... step up and play First XI [next season]," he said.
If that happened, he said, there would be more young talent in the Connolly Cup side.
Gwydir and Moree qualified for the final after topping the Eastern and Western conferences respectively.
