Comfort Inn Harvest Lodge Gunnedah took out the gold award for comfort in Choice Hotels Asia-Pac's annual awards. The motel was the only one in the state to win this award.
It was chosen as the winner for "consistent and exemplary customer service and guest offering throughout 2019".

One half of the motel's managerial team Esslar Kelly said the entire team was "excited and rapt about getting the award".
"They sent a video message to us ... and thanked us through the video," she said.
"I think we've got a really good team here; we've got great bosses and we want to thank them all."
She said they were all proud of their customer service.
"We do get a lot of workers come through that are repeat trade and even if they're not we always thrive on exceeding our customer service," Ms Kelly said.
Business has been "up and down" according to the manager, but they kept up the good work regardless.
"In some parts of the business it's been quiet like the agricultural side but the mining side still has been fairly busy," she said.
"The week of speed and all of that in March, and the bird sales, those things draw a lot of people to town."
The motel is now in the running for the Choice Hotels Asia-Pac's Hotel of The Year Awards at the upcoming Choice Hotels Asia-Pac conference in late February in Melbourne.
