Gunnedah Shire Council recorded 8950 total visitors far up to Friday, January 17 alone, with only 3097 paying adults.
The figures show that families are taking advantage of the council's free pool entry for kids offer, which ends on the last day of January.

Council public facilities manager Ashley Gardner said it was hard to determine whether numbers had increased from previous years, but paying-adult patronage was "considerably higher than average".
"The pool has seen significant patronage over January and we're looking forward to these strong numbers continuing, not only throughout the rest of January but until the end of the summer season," Mrs Gardner said.
She said high numbers of people were expected at the pool on Australia Day, too.
"Australia Day is always a great day at the pool - which sees a large crowd attend," she said.
"The extra activities that are being held are a draw-card for families, as well as free entry for all patrons."
