Gunnedah received differing amounts, from about 12mm to 22.5mm, 19mm was recorded in Breeza, and Mullaley had about 34mm fall.

Many areas received flash flooding, such as properties in Kelvin, with 35mm, and Boggabri, with 45mm.

The Namoi Valley Independent's own Vanessa Hohnke recorded 47mm in her rain gauge at Werris Creek, Emerald Hill saw about 25mm and farmer Peter Wills recorded 40mm at his place west of Quirindi.

And the wet stuff isn't going to just yet either, with the Bureau of Metereology forecasting rain until Saturday.

There's an 80 per cent chance of rain for Friday and a 60 per cent chance of 5-20mm of rain on Saturday.

Showers and a possible storms are forecast until Monday, with no days reaching over 35 degrees.

But the cool change and rain is expected to end on Tuesday, with sunny outlooks and temperatures between 34 and 36 degrees forecast until Thursday.
