The school's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Focus teacher, Sam Kennedy said the SRC fundraises each year for different charities, communities and initiatives and this year, organised a social to raise funds for the hampers.
About 90 students attended the event and the proceeds were matched dollar-for-dollar by Winanga-li.
"We would just like to thank St Mary's for its generous donation," Winanga-li's Kate McGrath said.
"The money the students raised has been ... used to purchase 12 Christmas Holiday Hampers for local Aboriginal families who are doing it tough, including grandparents who are raising their grandchildren, and families who have experienced a recent loss.
"These families have been very touched by the kindness of St Mary's students."
