Gunnedah Shire Council staff are going to hit the streets to remind eateries and retailers that they can apply to have their annual fees waived.
At the time, Gunnedah shire mayor Jamie Chaffey said increased outdoor dining and street trading could "add greatly to a town's atmosphere and appeal".
Over the coming weeks, staff will chat to business owners about how to apply for a fee-free year.
A street trading application fee is usually $168 and a footpath dining application fee is usually $290.
- A paper application will be required but council staff can help with the process. Business owners who want to carry out street vending will need to include a copy of their public liability insurance.
