Carroll Cotton Co has donated $3000 and the Upper Namoi Cotton Growers Association has donated $5900 for the cause, and the school community is very grateful.
School principal Rebecca Dowe said they started with no funds at the beginning of the year so it was "really good" to have the support of businesses to help them reach their goal.
"It's been because companies like the Upper Namoi Cotton Growers Association and Carroll Cotton Co and people like that have been able to donate such big sums, so we're pretty grateful," Mrs Dowe said.

Mrs Dowe said they hoped to have a bus up and running within the next six months.
"We've already started looking for one, we're just in the process now of forming a bus committee and once that committee is born, they'll be able to take over and get the bus," she said.
"We'd love to have the bus up and running because we've been using buses a lot this year with our Namoi Partner School Sport program and Gunnedah Eisteddfod and things like that, so the quicker the better."
Carroll Cotton Co general manager Scott Davies said the company was "extremely proud to be part of the growth of Carroll Public School".
"It's a way of contributing and making sure the school survives and is prosperous at the same time and giving all the kids that attend here the same opportunities that other schools get more so in Gunnedah," Mr Davies said.
Upper Namoi Cotton Growers Association chair Nick Beer echoed Mr Davies' comments.
"A safe and economical bus for the children I think will go a long way to help," he said.
