They include acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed with a dangerous weapon, and possession of an unregistered firearm.
Police say the alleged attacker claimed the pair owed him money over a failed business venture.
The woman, 40, remains in hospital in a stable condition after she was shot in the side of the head but managed to crawl under a car to shelter from her attacker.
Her husband, 53, was attacked with a hammer when he came to her aid.
A tradesman who went to the woman's aid was also injured.
Cregan did not appear as the charges were mentioned in Townsville Magistrates Court on Thursday. He was remanded in custody.
