The new Gunnedah Showground working group will improve talks between users and Gunnedah Shire Council.
The group was approved at Wednesday's council meeting, and councillors were nominated to join.
Cr Colleen Fuller, Cr Owen Hasler and deputy mayor Rob Hooke will all form part of the group, which will also include a large number of user groups.
It will replace the original Showground Committee of Management.
Gunnedah Showground may soon be overseen by a new working group.
The creation of the group, which would have a representative from every showground user group and three councillors, will be voted on at Wednesday's council meeting.
It comes after the original Showground Committee of Management was disbanded due to the commencement of the Crown Land Management Act 2016.
Gunnedah Show Society is one of the 14 user groups, and president Rob Witts said the new group would "give the whole community an opportunity to say what should be done at the showground".
"I'm hoping that it'll get communications going between the user groups and the council," he said.
"Because of the disbandment of the Showground Committee of Management and the time between the formation of this new working group, there hasn't been an opportunity for user groups of the showground to speak with council over issues they have at the showground."
Councillor Owen Hasler said the working group would benefit each user immensely.
"Any working group which consists of councillors and the representatives of various users ... have a very positive impact, as those [user groups] are the beneficiaries of any upgrades and improvements, and they are the ones that are aware of what is needed in the way of ongoing maintenance and any upgrades," Cr Hasler said.
"There's plenty to keep the group busy in ensuring that their individual user groups are represented and ... consequently council will be kept informed of the needs."
The group would meet quarterly on every third Monday in the Gunnedah Shire Council chambers.
