Gunnedah's famous High Street Christmas display will not go ahead this year because of ill health.
The display is known for its festive atmosphere and is a favourite of local families.
The display is normally set-up in two front yards and one full block, which includes Santa's workshop, elves workshop, monster house and a Christmas house.
Sisters Linda and Carol Owers started the display more than 20 years ago in front of their home, at 9 High Street, after the birth of their niece Grace.
It is also an annual fundraiser for Gunnedah RSPCA, which has been struggling financially and is continually seeking monetary support to continue rescuing and rehoming cats and dogs.
"We thank all the volunteers who have donated their time and support to the display allowing it to be opened to the public," Linda Owers said.
The RPSCA is asking residents who would have donated at the High Street display, to think about helping the branch by placing pet food in its bin at Woolworths or donating funds via bank details below.
