School's back now, and it's the last term, so if your child needs some additional help with reading, consider booking them into our Bookends Literacy Assist program. You can book a 20 minute session during which your child can select a book from the library, and read it to a senior, who will offer encouragement and assistance.
Bookings are essential for this program so please ring the library at 6740 2190 to book a session for your child. The program runs Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays afternoons from 3pm onwards.
Children in the Bookends program also become members of 1000 Books After School, which encourages children to keep reading and strive for milestone certificates.
Another fun after school activity for children is Junior Brain Games which runs for an hour each Wednesday afternoon from 3.30pm. Children enjoy stories with questions and answers, and activities such as join the dots, find the objects, word games, break the codes, mazes, and spot the difference.
There are places in this program, so if you would like your child to participate, please ring the library staff on 67402190 to book a place!
