The pony club's Lucy Jackson saw success at the zone five jamboree in Quirindi last week, receiving the highest point score in 15 under 17 and winning the small club award. She also came fourth in C grade jumping and fifth in the 2A dressage test.

Sacred Heart School hosted the small schools public speaking competition and 103 students from Fairfax, Mullaley and Boggabri Public schools battled it out with prepared and impromptu speeches.
Meryl Hennessy, Maree Nott, Pip Murray and Eliza Gallen took on the roles of adjudicators and the Rotary Club of Boggabri provided the time-keepers, a sausage sizzle for lunch and gifted prizes to the event.
