The annual Garage Sale Trail is back on this weekend, with households all over the North West opening their garage doors to sell their pre-loved goods.
Clothing, accessories, furniture, homewares, toys, and much more will be on offer on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20 at cheap prices.
There are 45 registered garage sale sites in the Tamworth region, and three in Gunnedah.
Supported by Northern Inland Regional Waste (NIRW), there are about 250 in the North West region as a whole.
Gunnedah woman Helen Rosenzweig will be selling a lot of baby and children's items at her sale on Saturday. She will be opening her garage from 7.30am-12.30pm.
"We've been thinking about having a sale for ages and when this was on it was the trigger and motivator to do it," Ms Rosenzweig said.
"We'd rather someone else use [our secondhand items] then get rid of [them] somewhere."
Tamworth's Caroline Rothwell is holding a sale titled '40-year clean out' at her home on Sunday. She is offering up an electric guitar and amp, knitting wool, a new dining table and chairs, Halloween and Christmas items, and much more.
She said she signed up because she needed a clean out, but didn't want to take her items to the tip. Her garage door will be open from 9am-2pm.
"My daughters keep telling me 'we need a garage sale, we have too much stuff'," Ms Rothwell said.
"The garage is full ... I've never put my car in it.
"I know how hard it is for people at the moment, and I'm not expecting a lot, but there may be some people out there who need something and if I can give something to them for cheaper, that would be good."
Garage Sale Trail co-founder Darryl Nichols said the annual event provided a "platform for people to find a whole lot of pre-loved and bespoke items at affordable prices".
"As a nation, garage sales are a part of our cultural DNA," Mr Nichols said.
"Sustainability is best when it's social and in our own backyard."
This year, over 21,000 garage sales are registered and about 400,000 Australians set to participate.
