As the local prepares to host Pink Up, Drink Up at The Courthouse Hotel on Friday, she is thinking of her mother-in-law Noela Jeffrey who lost her battle with breast cancer four years ago.

When Noela was undergoing treatment, there was no breast care nurse at the North West Cancer Centre in Tamworth. In 2017, after an extensive community campaign, a position for a McGrath breast care nurse was created and Neridah Prenctice took on the role.
"I personally know how hard it is," Mrs Jeffrey said.
It's not the first time the local has fundraised for cancer patients, hosting a Girls' Night In for Cancer Council NSW at The Courthouse in 2017. Almost $3000 was raised.
Mrs Jeffrey is hopeful funds from the Pink Up Gunnedah campaign will increase the support given to breast cancer patients during their treatment.
The Courthouse Hotel will donate $3 from every Pink Up cocktail to the cause, photographer Tory Etheridge will run a photo booth for a gold coin donation, and there will be raffles and a DJ.
The fun kicks off at 6pm.
