Held at Rose Lee Park in Quirindi, the event is hosted by the Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) managed Home Support Service (HSS).
LPSC mayor Andrew Hope said all carers were "very welcome" to attend the free event.
"We'd like to see as many carers from around the shire come along to the barbecue so we can say thank you, on behalf of council and shire residents, for the extremely important role you play," he said.
In the 2016 census, about 771 people, or 12.3 per cent, of LPS residents listed as carers assisting family members or others with a disability, mental illness, drug and/or alcohol dependency, chronic condition, terminal illness or those who are frail/aged.
"The shire figures are slightly higher than the state or national average," Cr Hope said.
"Carers are in fact, an integral part of Australia's health system and are the foundation of our aged, disability, palliative and community care systems. LPSC is proud to once again support Carers Week."
A bus will depart Werris Creek at 10.30am to transport carers to the event.
Those interested in attending must RSVP to Quirindi HSS on 6746 4545 or Werris Creek HSS 6768 7505 by Friday, October 11 for catering purposes.
Werris Creek carers wishing to catch the bus must also arrange their pick up point when they RSVP.
In Tamworth, carers across the region are invited to participate in a planning day and luncheon on Wednesday, October 16 at the Tamworth Community Centre's Britten Room.
The event, held from 11am-1pm, will allow attendees to discuss what support, other events and more they would like to see in the future.
Lunch will be provided, and those wishing to attend can RSVP to GoCo on 6740 2240 by Monday, October 13.
