The water was pumped into a number of trucks parked along Eighth Division Memorial Avenue and Gunnedah Shire Council said some of the load had been delivered to Gunnedah Golf Club to fill the dams.
The council has been consulting with the contractor Hines Constructions and a third party about repairs.
The cost of repair and water losses will be covered under the contractor's defect liability period.
The council is encouraging those in need of water to get in contact or head up to the pool before 5pm with a pod or shuttle. A Spigot to suit Type D camlock will connect to the pipe.
