Members said they'd seen and heard of numerous drivers going off-road and cutting the corners when entering and leaving the town from the Kamilaroi Highway.
There have been reports of these drivers narrowly avoiding collisions with residents and other vehicles, including trucks travelling on the highway.
The incidents have reportedly occurred in day and night hours and the drivers have not slowed their speed as they made their way through the town.

The issue has been the focus of association meetings and discussed with both the Gunnedah Shire Council and Gunnedah Police.
The association is asking residents to note number plates and vehicle descriptions, and report them to the police.
Member Casey West said it had been happening for a few years but had ramped up in the past few months.
A number of her family members have witnessed incidents and she said "most of those cutting the corner are speeding".
"I was behind a car at quarter to four the other week and it cut straight in front of a truck coming from Breeza," she said.
"The dust near chokes you.
"Not only is it unnecessary, it's dangerous and illegal ... We fear that someone is going to be seriously hurt or, worse, killed."
Fellow member Crystal Neil's message to the drivers is "the community at large doesn't agree. It's unsafe. It's not OK. Please stop it".
"You're driving in a small community that has a school, and you're driving in a community where kids are on bikes and parents are walking with prams," she said.
Ms Neil said it was everybody's job to report unsafe behaviour.
"We're all in here together. We've all got a part to play. If you see something, say something, so nobody does end up getting hurt, especially our kids," she said.
"This is a wonderful community and we all need to look out for and after each other."
The association is waiting for the issue to go before the council's Gunnedah Crime Prevention Working Group. The highway is under the jurisdiction of Roads and Maritime Services.
