The Gunnedah school will receive a major makeover next year and parents and community members can hear about the project firsthand on Wednesday night.
The architects will share images of the reimagined classrooms, with glass and sliding doors key to creating open, flexible spaces.
Principal Jenny Honner said she initially had concerns about some aspects of the layout but these have since been laid to rest with some tweaking.
The library is now one large space instead of two separate rooms, there is one large storage area for resources, and two "break-out" spaces have been created for small group activities.
Another key concern addressed was a lack of wall space for teachers.
"I'm really happy with the way it has turned out ... It's a really good final design," Ms Honner said.
"The whole idea is to have people think about spaces not as boxes any more but that you actually own the space outside your classroom."
She is particularly excited that the outside area on Henry Street will be lined with decking and leave space for a vegetable garden and outdoor kitchen.
The construction start date of early 2020 is dependent on successfully housing the school's senior students and the build is expected to take at least 10 months.
The school is in discussions with its neighbour St Mary's College about outfitting and using a space in its grounds.
"As a school, we've already started planning what needs to happen for us ... Between now and the end of the year there is a lot to do," Ms Honner said.
The project will be funded by the Catholic Schools Office and the NSW government's Capital Grants Program.
- The information session will be held in the school hall from 6pm-7pm.
