A MAN has been convicted of drug supply after more than $30,000 worth of cannabis was uncovered in a car stop.

Ian Charles Wise was intercepted about midnight on March 12 with 4.7kg of the drug in his car on Denman Road at Muswellbrook, en route to Gunnedah on March 12.
Strike Force Yarramunmun - a secret operation by Oxley detectives - had been investigating the supply of the drug between Gunnedah and Muswellbrook.
After questioning him, officers said they had cause to search the car and uncovered the haul of cannabis they claim had an estimated street value of $32,000.

Wise, who lives in Gunnedah, was arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of taking part in the supply of cannabis.
Strike Force Yarramunmun was launched in January this year.
Wise pleaded guilty to two counts of taking part in the supply of cannabis that was more than an indictable quantity.
In sentencing in Gunnedah Local Court, magistrate George Breton imposed an aggregate term of imprisonment of 18 months, to be served by way of an intensive corrections order, or a community-based jail term.
As part of the order, Wise must be supervised by parole authorities, carry out 150 hours of community service and undergo counselling.
