The RSPCA's Linda Taylor said she had been writing to a few community groups to ask for their support and the response has been "wonderful".
"It's the last thing we want to do - close the doors - so all donations large, small and in between are welcome," she said.
Donations of food, blankets, sheets and puppy milk powder are also appreciated.
CWA president Coralie Howe said they were glad to help the long-running group.
"It's close to our hearts; we all love animals," she said.
Ms Taylor said the branch had some new foster carers but were always looking for more, and welcomed "fresh ideas" to aid fundraising.
